Well we finally made it to Budapest after over 24 hours of travel. We were half an hour late leaving Sydney which was okay as we had plenty of time fWoor connection to the next flight in Dubai. However, we were an hour late leaving Dubai and I must say Emirates has disappointed me yet again. Four flights with Emirates so far and all have been late! Not happy Jan!!!!
We had time to wander through the Wintermarkt (Christmas markets) at Munich airport :)
Now to Budapest
Wow! What a pretty city. It was dark when we landed so we saw Budapest all lit up. :) The airport shuttle service was great and dropped us right at the Hotel Victoria which is on the Danube. What a lovely place with floor to ceiling glass windows which looked out onto the Chain Bridge and Parliament building. We spent a couple of hours walking along the shore and across the Chain Bridge.

On Sunday morning we spent a few hours at Budapest Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion. We travelled up by funicular railway (took about 60 seconds lol)
The view was spectacular from the Castle and we spent a few hours wandering around marvelling at the old buildings and looking at Budapest by daylight.
Even Scrat enjoyed the trip - though he did complain a little about being stuffed in a suitcase for the trip :)
More to follow - internet access is dreadful on board.
